Location
Fish and Frolic Holiday is situated on the shoreline of Guntersville Lake, home of the Bassmaster Classic, in a quiet cove just minutes to the main channel, with a private dock 175 feet from the back door. Located halfway between Guntersville and Scottsboro, this vacation home is located conveniently by shopping, golfing, restaurants, state parks, tournaments, boat launches, and so much more! We are 12 minutes from the square in Scottsboro, 19 minutes from downtown Guntersville, and 55 minutes from the Huntsville airport.
Space
Access
Guests will have private access to the property, excluding the garage. Guests will access the home using a secure pin code that will be sent prior to arrival.
Eat
Fully equipped with a refrigerator, freezer with ice maker, both Keurig and traditional coffee maker, stove, oven, microwave, toaster, blender, 7qt crock pot, meat thermometer, milk frother, food scale, reverse osmosis system for drinking water, all cookware and dishes needed to cook and serve a meal for 8, children’s plates, bowls, cups, mini-bar with cocktail shaker, bar spoon, bottle opener, double jigger, strainer, ice tongs and recipe cards, lemon/ lime squeezer, and hand mixer.
Retreat
Boathouse and dock with bench, ‘Wet Steps’ to get in and out of the lake, outdoor fire pit with Adirondack chairs, covered furnished front porch, furnished back porch, furnished upstairs balcony, 1 single person, sit-in kayak, 2 single person, sit-on kayaks with paddles (250 lb limit), 4-person paddle boat, and charcoal grill (bring your own charcoal and lighter fluid).
Escape
The golfers in the family can be at Goosepond Colony Resort with two beautiful 18 hole championship courses in a matter of minutes. Other courses are a short distance away at the highly acclaimed Gunter’s Landing course, Guntersville State Park, Willowbrook Golf Course in Albertville, or Robert Trent Jones Golf Club at Hampton Cove.
The thrill seekers can go ziplining at Guntersville State Park or on a cave tour at Cathedral Caverns. Those who want to be close to nature, but not on the lake, can go for a hike at one of the many county or state parks in the area, including many with waterfall trails. Our favorite is Pisgah Falls, a 33 minute drive from Fish and Frolic Holiday.
On days when the weather prevents outdoor activity, or for those who need a break from the outdoors, there are a number of indoor attractions such as the Guntersville Museum, and the famous US Space and Rocket Center and Museum in Huntsville.
There are several wineries in the area including Harbor View in Guntersville, Joe Vineyard Farm in Albertville, and Jules J. Berta Vineyard in Albertville.
There are a number of casual and fine dining restaurants within 10 to 30 minutes in Goose Pond Colony Resort, Scottsboro, and Guntersville. City Harbor opened in the Spring of 2022 and offers dining and entertainment as an upscale family destination directly on the water near historic downtown Guntersville.

- No pets allowed, undisclosed pets result in a $1,000 pet fee and the pet must leave immediately or the guest’s stay is terminated.
- No events, parties, or large gatherings, an additional $1,000 cleaning fee is applied if an undisclosed event occurs in the home.

- A signed rental agreement and photo ID must be uploaded 48 hours after the reservation is made or the reservation will be canceled.
Requires Stairs
1 step at the front porch, front door, back door and balcony. 4 steps at the back porch. 13 step, lighted, wooden staircase indoors. There are 2 steps from the hall to bedrooms #2 and #3, and 2 steps into the en-suite bathroom.
Cameras/Surveillance
3 exterior operational video security cameras actively recording 24/7 during your stay. One at doorbell records visually and audibly facing the front porch. One at garage facing the driveway. One at back door facing approach to back door & boathouse. None are monitored. No cameras inside home.
Security System
The property and neighborhood are safe areas. The neighbors are laid back and easy going. They all enjoy the lake life! We have found that some guests prefer a security system while traveling to an unfamiliar area, so one has been installed. There are video cameras actively recording 24/7 during your stay at each entry door and the driveway that allow guests to feel safe and comfortable in a secure environment.
